On Hold
About “Jazz”, Blondes Have More Fun (& then a nap). Melb
Blonde bombshell Jazz knows what life is about – friends, food, and fun! Jazz loves romping with her whippet foster siblings, going for walks and car rides, or bouncing like a pogo stick when she gets excited. She also loves a snooze, and makes herself a “Jazz nest” every night by scrunching up her blanket and turning around a few times. And did we mention that she loves her food? At the very moment her profile was being written, Jazz was busy stealing a whole pizza off her foster carer’s bench!
Jazz enjoys a cuddle (upside-down or in your lap), but isn’t a clingy kind of dog. She’s a cheeky, independent soul who’d be happy with her own dedicated humans, or with a doggy friend or two to share her adventures. Jazz would rather not live with a cat (she’s had swipes on the nose in the past), and being a strong, bouncy girl, she’d be best with older children. She’s been curious about birds in her foster home, but hasn’t tried to chase them. Jazz is learning the ropes of pet life, and is mostly good on lead, excellent at sleeping through the night, and fully house-trained.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
