About Harlie
Harlie is a giant sweetheart who loves cuddles and leaning affectionately. Her favourite thing is hanging around with her people, whether it is exploring outside or just chilling in your company.
Despite her youth, she seems to be quite aware of her size and has been amazingly gentle with our 18month old who adores her. Harlie has been allowed inside when people are home and she sleeps on her bed without disturbing you through the night. She is house trained and also knows that she is not allowed on furniture (lounges or beds).
She has had some obedience training and is a star on the lead with a great “heal” (walking next to you on a loose lead). She sits and waits patiently for her dinner only eating when told “free”. She has been taught “sit”, “drop” and is getting better at “stand” which is very helpful for bath time. She is good at “stay” for short durations and is getting better at longer duration stays (though has a tendency to lie down and have a rest instead!).
When you are home, Harlie is typically the definition of a ‘lounge lizard’, she is more than happy lounging around wherever you might be waiting for an occasional pat or cuddle. She does need a decent walk/playtime though to burn that puppy energy and she will kindly let you know if she is not getting enough exercise by chewing available objects eg shoes!.
She loves getting 'out and about' whether it is a slow on lead walk or running full tilt at the beach. When going out, Harlie often draws attention because of her size. In these settings she has been great with other dogs and loves to play. She is good with formal greetings to new people and kids but can be shy or scared with new people who approach quickly. Introductions and recall (whilst playing with other dogs) are 2 areas that will need continued training.
Given how good Harlie is with kids, this adorable girl would be suited to families including those with small kids. If would be preferable if her new home has had some experience with large breed dogs to ensure she continues with her training and fulfills her potential. She has been quite happy as an ‘only-dog’ for the last month or 2 so this arrangement in a new home would be fine. While Harlie gets along well with other dogs, her old house mate did not like her and she was on the receiving end of some aggressive behaviour. She does love company so joining a family with another dog would be great following an appropriate introduction.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
