About Meyer the Bulldog
Meyer is a sweet, easy going, fun loving and lovable girl ❤️ she can be a bit timid at first but she warms up to you pretty fast and then never leaves your side.. she loves people & being a part of the family.. she loves pats & endless cuddles and yearns for human affection.
Meyer thrives on being included in the family life and was predominantly an outside dog but we would love to see her as an inside & outside dog, especially during the harsh cold and hot weather.
Meyer hasn't been socialised with other dogs but grew up with her brother, so proper, slow & supervised introductions are key to her living successfully with another dog(s).
She hasn't been walked at all but walks like a dream on a harness and doesn't pull. If she sees small dogs, she's curious but takes correction quickly and doesn't pull to go after them.
Meyer needs an experienced handler as she's a strong girl however when a volunteer met with her recently she said: ' you wouldn't know it when she walked as she was flawless!! Even when I gave her to my nephew to walk her she was a dream... Meyer has been neglected and has had a rough life for a dog so young. But you wouldn't know it looking at her as she's Joy personified. But every dog deserves to be living the dream and Meyer's time has come!!'
It breaks our heart to know that Meyer has lived her last 9 months chained up to a pole in the backyard with her brother, so in her new home or foster home, a warm bed/ kennel or crate inside the home would be great for her... (Meyer hasn't yet to be crate trained).
Meyer is your typical American Bulldog so no pocket animals, cats or furry small dogs. Also no small kids/toddlers as she hasn't been around them and we don't know how she is... however proper supervision is key. We would recommend a home with older children, parents or adults who are experienced American Bulldog / big dog owners.
Meyer has been brought up with her brother as pups so she has lived with a dog and can do so again. She needs a home where she will get daily walks, socialisation with dogs (slowly and over time) a home where there has rules, boundaries and ongoing training, good nutritious meals, a warm bed at night and a back yard with a high fence. She also needs a safe home where she will be a part of the family... whoever gets Meyer, gets GOLD❤️

Applicants will be assessed in terms of best suitability for the dog. A meet & greet and yard inspection are essential parts of the screening process.
The first 2 weeks for every adoption is a trial period to ensure that both the dog and family are a good match. And once everyone is happy the dog's microchip will be changed across to the new family.
