About “Astro”, Out of This World (may be cat-friendly).
Astro’s looks are truly out of this world – he’s a gorgeous petit “blue” boy with a puppyish style. He’s looking even better now that he’s in foster care and gaining some weight (about 1.5 kilos per week!), and is well on his way to becoming a happy, healthy, beautiful pet.
Astro is settling well into foster care, and has learned to heel and obey basic commands, like not stealing food off the bench! He occasionally still gets over-excited or nervous meeting unfamiliar dogs, but has settled down a lot, and is improving with every encounter. At home, Astro is as sweet and trusting as they come, and loves company. He’ll need a doggy friend in his forever home because he doesn’t like being by himself. Astro has lived successfully with cats in the past, so we’re testing him out with a feline companion – cat-friendly greyhounds are very special indeed!
Astro loves his walks and playtime, but isn’t overly energetic. He’s perfect with kids (seven or over) and extremely friendly with any people who take the time to say hello. His one misdemeanour is sneaking onto the couch or the bed when his humans aren’t looking, but what greyhound can resist a comfy place for a snooze? This stellar boy is ready to launch into the orbit of a very lucky household.

All our dogs are desexed, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped.

Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
