Portia was surrendered to us last week, and we were told she was 9 years old, by previous owner?!
We were not given any documentation and her microchip is unregistered, to find out that way.
The consensus amongst us was she looked and acted like a much younger dog!!
Portia had her vet check up and a dental scale and polish and vaccination, and our vet swears that she is no older then 5.
She is currently fostered in a house with big and small dogs and she conforms to the pack very well.
She has been trained in the past as she does have great manners and basic obedience.
When walking on lead, she can be a little dog reactive.
At night she lounges around in the lounge room with other dogs, till bedtime, and quite happy to trot off to bed in the laundry with babygate.
Portia has been an only dog, but would do well with a friend.
She would suit a lot of different homes, and its our job to find the right one for her.
Adoption details
We shortlist families who will fit the dogs needs and contact them to arrange an introduction. If everything works well, after time to .give thought an adoption agreement is completed and as the fee is transferred the dog will pass into your care.
Our Adoption Fees vary as fees for elderly animals or animals with health problems are different from those for young or purebred dogs.
All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and treated for fleas. They have had a consultation with our vet who discusses appropriate treatment which we arrange where necessary. All dogs are desexed at our expense.
We understand that in the first seven days issues occasionally occur that training or behaviour modification is impractical and if no other recourse is available so the dog needs to be returned, we will process a refund of the adoption fee less $100 administration fee. Due to our system processes this will not be instantaneous but will go into your bank account within the next 10 working days. After seven days, we require first refusal if the dog is to be found a different home, but you will not be eligible for a refund.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
