About Skittles
Meet Skittles, a delightful, cuddly, fun loving girl. She loves walks, runs at the parks, car rides, snuggles on laps, and in no particular order. If someone is sitting down she will ask to be invited up onto their lap and if the car keys or a leash appears, she will run to the front door, excited at the prospect of an adventure with her people. Even if it’s just a drive to the shops and back, she loves to come along for the ride!
In her previous home Skittles was an only dog, but she has come to very much enjoy the company of other dogs in her current foster home so having a desexed male canine friend will be important for Skittles, and ideally she needs a home where there is another dog of similar size who enjoys playing.
She will also prefer a home where her people will be able to spend time interacting with her, playing tug of war, wrestling gently with her and being her friend. During down time, she likes nothing more than to be offered a lap or a cuddle next to you on the couch.
Whilst Skittles can be nervous around strangers, she will warm up to them if allowed to approach in her own time.
Skittles does well with other dogs, cats, and chickens. She gets a little too excited around rabbits and guinea pigs and would not be suitable for a home with these kinds of small animals.
We have found her to be beautifully behaved around small children, even when they have food in hand! She will not take that food unless invited to do so! She is very trainable and requires very little correction. Her basic training has been established.
Skittles is toilet trained and crate trained, but spends most nights happily curled up on the end of a bed. Being a Maltese X Shih Tzu, she will require regular grooming and her face will need to be cleaned daily, as well as an occasional facial trim to allow her to see properly.
If you are interested in Skittles, and believe you have the right home for her, please send us an enquiry and we will be back in touch shortly.
Medical notes
skittles has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
