About Scotty and Eddie
Scotty and Eddie are a couple of teenagers who came to us separately having been born in the wild and a rubbish tip, and they were a bit too old to relax onto the lap of a human. We originally thought they would go on our 'Barn Buddy' programme which involves someone allowing them to live in a shed or barn and putting food out but expecting nothing in return, but they have come so far that we think they deserve better than this; but that's where we need you!
Scotty (black and white) is playful and runs up to his carers when they go in the room. He rubs round their legs and pushes against their hands for neck rubs and long strokes of his tail. He can be picked up on occasion and is starting to consider the option of jumping on a lap.
Eddie (ginger and white) is the more scared boy and he looks to Scotty for confidence and they have a fantastic time playing together which is very entertaining to watch. If you hold your hand out and wait Eddie will have a sniff and then give it a bat; he hasn't learnt to put his claws in yet though.
They still go in their large crate every night at dinner time and in the morning they can both be stroked all down their back and tail and under the chin as they are less scared when in the crate; the big wide world hasn't given them a good start and it is still frightening. There may never come a time when Scotty and Eddie lay on your lap but if you are patient and looking to be rewarded, there is much progress to be made with these boys and they will show you love in their own special way.
They would need to start their new life in a small room or a crate, where you can touch them each day until they get used to you and learn to trust you; this is going to take a while so you will need to have buckets of patience! You can see from the pics how close and inquisitive they are about the foster carers but the key is to push the boundaries rally, really slowly!
If you are looking for an instant fur baby family and you have lots of time and patience and love to give then don't look past these deserving boys.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
