About Billie
Hi, my name is Billie!
I am with OTC as they saved me from death row at a rural pound. My time was up but thankfully OTC saw how lovely I was and rescued me before I was put down.
I am a loving young girl and I like to show her how much I appreciate and love her by holding or kissing her hand- I am sweet like that. I am really well house trained and never miss a beat with my toilet training. I am a really well behaved dog! I like children and am well behaved around them. I love food and I love your affection- so I am easy to train because I am so eager to please. I am learning to be patient around food and to not jump up and be silly. I'm such a jolly, happy girl- but smart, too. My new owner must be consistent with my training so that all my great manners are maintained for the duration of my life.
I live with two dogs that I absolutely love, but I have been known to be picky with my friends. What can I say, I'm a girl of standards. So if you have other dogs at home, or wish for me to be around other dogs, proper introductions are important. I don't like timid or edgy dogs much, but get along with all the other dogs who have come through my foster home! Once I am friends with another dog we are fine, and I will cuddle them at night and play well with them during the day. I loooove to roll and tumble and chase with my doggy friends. I have a big bark that you will only hear when someone is coming up to my yard! I like to let you know if people are here. I sleep inside or out at night.
**I AM HOUSE TRAINED AND DESEXED, VACCINATED, WORM/TICK/FLEA TREATED, AND MICROCHIPPED**
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate, microchip number.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
