About Lexi ~ Kelpie x, female (On Trial 7/6/17)
Lexi is a 7 month old Kelpie X, who is a very patient, calm, loyal and loving. She is great on the lead either walking or running and would be a wonderful dog to take with you wherever you go. She loves going for walks, however is not overly energetic and happy to relax.
Lexi is used to being home alone and is great outside, when she comes in she loves to snuggle up next to you, or sleep on her pillow. Lexi is definitely not too shy to give you lots of kisses and cuddle on your lap.
She loves her toys, especially playing fetch with a ball, her soft toys and loves playing hide and seek. She is very well trained and will sit and wait for you to say she can eat, or come inside. She loves bones and treats and will patiently wait for you to give them to her. When Lexi is outside she happily entertains herself, playing with toys or lazing in the sun.
She is great with other dogs, during walks she will wait for other dogs to approach her and does not demonstrate aggressive behaviour. She does need a home with high fences as she is a very impressive jumper.
Lexi would be well suited to anyone who will give her a loving home, she is great with kids and other pets, so really just needs someone who will care for her. On occasion Lexi can be a bit timid, for example when in crowds or busy places, she is becoming more comfortable in these environments and would need someone to help her become more comfortable.
Lexi is a wonderful loyal dog, who will form a very strong bond with her owner, giving you all the love she can and will literally become a member of the family.
For more information or to meet Lexi, please contact her foster carer Sarah via email sarah_jae17@hotmail.com Lexi is in foster care in Carrington, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Lexi's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
