About Paris
Pretty Paris has similar colouring to a couple of her sisters, but you can't mistake Paris for anyone else. She is the only one with a tail that curls around in a perfect circle over her back. She is a perky little girl, confident and full of ideas. We often see her at the head of the puppy pack, leading them off to investigate something in the garden. When she is out and about outside she is not very demanding, but when it comes time for a cuddle she loves to get the best position and have a little play with a human and a toy before she goes to sleep. She is such a clever little dog, and is easy to train.
Paris was born in Ampilatwatj after her mum Stripe was rescued by a visiting worker from life as an unwanted stray. Initially Stripe was in a bad way, but luckily for her puppies she was being well cared for in the month before they were born. By the time they came to Kunapa Kari in Tennant Creek, Stripe was looking pretty good and her puppies, only a day old, were healthy and doing well.
They have been raised on a rural block on the outskirts of Tennant Creek. It's been a peaceful and protected environment for them, and this really shows in their temperaments. All of the puppies and calm and confident, have learnt how to behave around the bigger dogs, and have had plenty of handling and cuddles from our volunteers and the neighbouring kids who visit.
Stripe herself is a 15 kg medium build dog. We have included a picture of her in Paris's profile. The puppies vary in size a lot, and Paris is one of the bigger ones, so we think full-grown she will be around 18 kg.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Paris's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
Medical notes
Paris will be wormed and heart-worm treated again just before leaving the Territory. She should be de-wormed fortnightly until 5 months of age and have at least 1 further heart-worm treatment after she arrives down south.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees may or may not be included in the adoption fee, and this will be stated in the pet's profile.
