Brick

Other dogs?
Brick loves his adventures at the park and tends to get very excited. When he arrives brick will bark telling everyone ‘’I am here!!’’ He will play make friends with others dogs, but does not like being surprised by a dog that approaches from behind.

Cats?
Yes.

Other animals?
Yes, gets on well with the house rabbit.

Kids?
Yes however, we recommend any kids be primary school aged or older and only if gentle and calm. No rough play or exposure to a chaotic environment.

Size.
17 kgs

Exercise requirements.
Brick has low exercise requirements enjoying short strolls or playtime at home. He plays like a puppy when at the park, then likes to spend the rest of the day sleeping on and off.

How is this dog on a lead?
Like most dogs he starts off pulling but settles down. He may jump up on human legs in search of a pat.

How is this dog off the lead?
Brick’s recall is not consistently reliable. He is sometimes good but when it suits, he has selective hearing.

Escape artist?
No, but we always recommend dogs have a secure yard.

Nuisance barker or destructive.
Brick struggles if left alone and will often cry. A citronella spray seems to help stop this. Brick is not currently destructive.

Toilet trained?
Yes

Tolerance to being alone?
Yes if he has another dog for company. Otherwise he will need someone home more often than not.

Likes?
Walks, pats, cuddles and comfortable chairs. But by far his most favourite thing is affection and attention from his human family.

Dislikes?
Being alone.

Ideal home.
Brick needs at least a medium sized yard. Until 6 months ago he was living with his mother but since her passing, Brick is missing the company of another dog. He will need another dog in the home or someone home more often than not. Otherwise he is likely to howl and whimper. His new family will need to be actively looking for an affectionate dog they wish to interact with. Brick currently adores the 8 and 9 year old kids he lives with.

Brick will not suit a home with very young, frail, elderly or time poor residents.

Brick is a gorgeous, simple soul who thrives on being loved. Brick is a very loyal and affectionate dog that will shower you with unconditional love. He is a gentle, loyal dog and will make a wonderful addition to a home that appreciates how special he is.
