About Hercules ~ 5yo Mastiff x Boxer (On Trial 25/6/17)
Hi, this is Hercules! He is a 5 year old Mastiff X Boxer boy. Hercules is a patient and gentle boy who just wants to be loved. He really wants to find his forever home and family. Could that be you?
Hercules enjoys playing with his very energetic foster brother but he is just as happy to simply be with his loving humans. He currently lives with another dog that is a similar height to him but he could live with a smaller size dog as he is very gentle. Other dogs can feel intimidated by his size, but Hercules is very friendly and loves to play. His temperament is very happy and placid. Other energetic dogs in his face don’t faze him at all.
Hercules is learning to walk with a harness and after the initial excitement he does walk well without pulling. He knows “sit” and “stay” and responds well to food so teaching him new commands will be a piece of cake.
Hercules is an outside dog who will definitely need a kennel to sleep in during the day and night. He spends a lot of his time in his warm and comfortable kennel where he feels safe. Hercules loves being around people and getting attention but he is well behaved and just sleeps in his kennel when we are away.
We believe he would be wonderful around kids due to his calm and gentle nature but because of his size, bigger children might be best. He currently does not live with children.
For more information or to meet Hercules, please contact his Foster parents James and Sam by emailing james_sam87@outlook.com. Hercules is located in the Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Hercules’ adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
