About Toby ~ sweet 1yo Cattledog x boy
This gorgeous boy is Toby – a 12 month old Cattledog x boy. Toby is a very loyal and loving boy who is great with other dogs and also with young kids!
Toby currently lives with children (3yo and 7yo) and knows to be gentle and not pushy with them. He loves to play outside with the kids and our dog. He is good with other dogs and shows no food aggression at all. He loves his people too and will never say no to some attention and cuddles. He can be slightly timid at first then will come out of his shell and be best friends.
Toby is a smart boy who is learning basic obedience. He is treat-motivated and easy to train and he would love to do some more training with you.
Toby is a very active boy and will need regular exercise. It would be good if you have experience with working dog breeds and an active lifestyle. Toby is good on the lead and also has good recall and he loves to go for a long walk or run with you.
Toy is happy to be an outside dog so long as he has a nice sheltered area or back room to sleep in and another dog for company. Toby doesn’t seem to be interested in pet birds, but we are not sure how he would go with cats.
Toby will need a large yard with good fencing (5-6ft colourbond) as he may try to climb out if he gets lonely or bored. He is still a puppy so he would benefit from regular exercise and lots of toys to play with so that he doesn’t get bored and bark or chew things he is not supposed to. Another young and playful dog companion would be best so that he can zoom around the yard and play with them.
Toby is such a sweet boy and has a lot of love to give to his new family.
For more information or to meet Toby, please contact his foster carer Leah on 0417 431 231 (outside of work hours) or email leah_davies@bigpond.com. Toby is located in the Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Toby's adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
