About Kimochi (Located in Brunswick)
Sweet Kimochi can be a bit shy, but once she gets to know you, she loves to have her belly rubbed and has the loveliest purr! She is a really sweet little cat. Kimochi, gets along well with other cats and would probably benefit from having someone who initially has a bit of time to really shower her with love and affection. She has not yet been exposed to kids or dogs, but with a gentle introduction, she should get along well.

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes de-sexing, micro-chip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care.
Kimochi has been treated by our vets at Vets on Parker for stomatitis and gingivitis, that is inflammation of the gums and mouth. This problem occurs relatively commonly in cats due to a combination of genetics and poor dental care. To manage this problem Kimochi has had all of her teeth removed except for her four canine teeth. This has significantly improved Kimochi's overall oral health and she is much happier because of it. Cats with few teeth surprisingly still enjoy dry food so it certainly won't effect her ability to eat and chew.
Kimochi is also FIV positive. FIV positive cats live a normal life for many many years and we unfortunately cannot predict the life span of these cats. FIV positive cats sometimes have a scruffy coat and the condition can lead to chronic recurrent infections in the mouth, eye and skin. Feline AIDS cannot infect people, however it can infect other cats through bite wounds commonly from fights. We encourage that Kimochi is either an indoor cat or a confined cat eg access to a cat run outdoors, so to ensure she does not pass on FIV to other cats. We recommend regular vet visits (6 monthly) to monitor weight, coat changes, her mouth etc.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion/s have a long and happy life together. Please be advised that if you should find that you are not a purrfect match, or if you need to rehome your new pet at any stage of its life, Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions. Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system
