About Jadore
Jadore
Looking for love
Male Siberian Husky, x American Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Mastiff
Hi everyone!
My name is Jadore and I am part of a litter surrendered into OTC care under the 'Last Litter' initiative. OTC took in my siblings and I and desexed our mum so that no more accidental litters can happen. We are all now in foster care, being house trained and having our vet work completed. My dad is a husky and my mum is a staffy x mastiff. I get along great with other dogs and am healthy and happy!
I will be a fantastic family pet but I need owners who are willing to raise me right and invest in my upbringing. I'm cute, I'm loving- but I will grow up to be very smart and energetic, and am not suited to lazy people who won't fulfil my needs. I am a bright dog who is eager to please - I will do anything to make you happy and all I want in return is to have my needs met! Read the below guide to see if you think you can give me the future I deserve!
FENCING:
A secure, fully-fenced yard is mandatory before you consider bringing me home. A height of 6ft is required as a minimum. Look for any footholds and check your yard for anything that may be used as a climbing apparatus to get up and over the fence, eg wheelie bins. Huskies are renowned for being adventurous and good at escaping- so because my dad is a pure husky I may have a bit of that urge also. While I haven't shown any desire to dig yet, as I mature I may be inclined to attempt to dig underneath fencing or gates, so look for any gaps and think ahead- if the desire to escape develops, look into lining the fenceline with chicken wire or pavers to keep me safe.
EXERCISE: I will need daily vigorous exercise. Teach me to walk well on a lead. This is important for us to bond and go forward together. I also need to run. No dog is happy with a leashed walk only! Let me be a dog. Take me on adventures. Take me swimming, let me get dirty. If you have a fenced dog park in your area, please take me there! As long as the other dogs that attend are balanced and social, dog parks will teach me how to run and play with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, and let me run freely. There are also lots of fun classes you could take with me to teach me new things eg agility.
COAT: At time of intake it didn't appear I have the typical husky 'double coat'. .
MY FAMILY: I will definitely be happiest with a dog friend at home. I may settle into a home where I am an only dog, if my owners are home a lot. But if you're like most people and work a lot, please get me a friend or consider sending me to a doggy play date a few days a week.

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate, microchip number and council registration, and will transfer the microchip into your name.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
