Wilma

We would like to introduce you to our special girl Wilma.

This precious pooch started her life in a very undesirable situation and when she arrived with us she was skin and bone and to be honest pretty scared of the world. But Wilma has spent her time so far with us showing how an amazing personality can overcome pretty much anything, she takes new things in her stride and adapts quickly. She has shown an ability to get on with other dogs big and small, as well as children - her nature is gentle and kind, her vet has even described her as having the best temperament they have seen in a Maremma, going as far as to describe her as perfect.
Wilma is great to walk on a lead sticking close to your side, she has learnt to love car rides despite initially being quite scared of even getting in a car and gets on great with her Maremma brother. She enjoys throwing around a soft toy (and chewing their faces off) but is safe to leave around your household items without worry.

And did we mention that she is just beautiful as an added bonus, with a puppy face that melts pretty much everyone that meets her.

It is important for anyone considering her as their new family member that they are aware that Wilma can be protective of her food around other dogs, probably due to her situation prior to rescue. She is also a Maremma and we encourage anyone considering adopting a Maremma to research the breed thoroughly, experienced dog owners are preferred and a consideration to the fact that this breed are known barkers is very important. Wilma isn't a big barker at this stage, however once settled in a new home it is possible she will become more protective and her barking may increase.
