About Roxie ~ 9yo Fox Terrier x (on trial 28/05/17)
Roxie is a sweet 9 year old Fox Terrier x girl. From her appearance, perhaps she may have some Jack Russell as well. Her colouring is white with a few tan spots – typical of this breed. She is compact and muscular in appearance, sharp and alert and possesses a ton of energy. She weighs around 5.8 kgs and stands 30 cms at the shoulders. She also measures around 30 cms from chest to rump.
Roxie has previously enjoyed a pampered “only child” life with caring owners in a happy environment. She appears to have wanted for little and enjoys a well balanced and happy personality. She is perfectly house-trained and “accidents” do not happen.
She is presently in foster care and is living within a family of two adult humans, a cat and four other small dogs of varying breeds and temperaments. She has settled in well and she appears to have good social skills both with humans and with other dogs. She doesn’t seem to know much about cats and this could be a problem with any new owner who might also have a feline companion.
Roxie enjoys good health; her eyes are clear and her eyesight appears fine. Her hearing seems quite acute. She is not a fussy eater and her appetite is good. This little dog is now approaching middle age but still displays a youthful exuberance and joy of life. She is a good walker and shows intelligent interest in all the sounds, sights and smells of her new environment.
Admirers of this breed will know that as a rule these little dogs need a lot of exercise, they can be quite vocal, and because of their original breeding, the desire to hunt and to dig can be very strong. Perhaps because her genes have been modified by those of other breeds in her background Roxie does not display these traits to any adverse extent.
Although she loves nothing better than sitting on one’s lap, accepting a load of TLC, and playing games, she does however need to be exercised regularly and a daily half hour walk would have to be considered the minimum.
If you are looking for a happy, self confident, handsome little dog who will give you loads of love and affection, who enjoys nothing more than getting out there, where she can run, where she can jump and play, this is the pup for you. Oh – and she doesn’t mind the more than occasional cuddle as well. But be quick!
For more information or to meet Roxie, please contact her foster carer Anita on 0424 176 260 or email awaters.charlestown@ljh.com.au. Roxie in foster care in Swansea, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
