About Lakey ~ On Trial 4/6/17
Introducing Lakey, a well-mannered 4.5 year old Siberian Husky x Labrador. Lakey is a total gentleman with a sweet soul and big doe eyes that win you over at hello.
Lakey loves people and will happily make friends with everyone he meets. He is very easy-going and confident in busy environments. He walks well on lead and will happily trot by your side if you pick up the pace during his daily walk. Lakey understands the word "gentle" when given treats – he responds well to positive training techniques as he wants to please you. He sits and stays nicely and has the most regal paw shake you'll ever see. Lakey loves to pose for the camera -it's hard not to strike a pose when you are so dashingly handsome!
Lakey would enjoy a yard where he can have a good sniff or lay in the sun on a warm day. He enjoys exploring the yard but will return to you when called for a pat or praise. He doesn't need to be constantly entertained, and isn't high energy so a daily walk and then hanging out with you would suit this self-assured gentleman.
Lakey would love a home where he can come in and out of the house and spend time with his family. He would suit a variety of lifestyles - a single person, couples or a semi-retired couple whose kids have left the nest. He would also suit a family with teenagers who are respectful and confident with large breed dogs.
Lakey is in foster carer with over 100 other big breed dogs and he's great with them - he enjoys spending time with about 20 of his canine friends in the "Party Run" where he is boarded. He would do well in a home with another friendly and calm dog, he'd also do well in a single dog family where he is included in daily life and family activities.
If you are looking for a dignified and loving companion then Lakey just might be the gentleman for you. To find out more please contact Jo on email jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com. Lakey is in foster care near Morisset, (NSW Central Coast).
Lakey's adoption fee is $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
