About Alfie ~ Cattle x puppy (on trial 20/05/17)
Hi, this is Alfie! He is a healthy 4 month old Cattle x (possibly with Border Collie) puppy. He is loyal and eager to please and has a loving temperament.
Alfie has a black and white stripe body with motley spotted legs and nose. He is growing into a medium size dog. Alfie eyes are little black beads full of life and alertness. He loves to play ball and a ride in the car. Alfie would excel at agility training as he very nimble. He likes toys and like all puppies, needs to have a simulating environment to prevent boredom.
Alfie is still a pup and requires lots of love and interaction. He gets on well with humans and other dogs. He currently lives with a large older dog and gets on really well with him, and would benefit from having another dog in the household. Previously he has shown no interest in cats or birds, but as this has been limited exposure, this is uncertain. He would be ideal for families with children 8yrs upwards who want a companion to train and love. It would be advantage to have someone at home during the day. He must have high fences and a large yard to play in.
Alfie has a routine, and is able to follow it well. He doesn’t bark excessively and is fairly quiet. Alfie is an outside pup who sleeps on an enclosed veranda, and is allowed in for pats and cuddles for a short time in the evening. His appetite is good and he is not a fussy eater. Alfie had a tough start with having some mange in a small patch but he has now had treatment and is healthy.
Alfie would make a wonderful pet for a family, rural farmer, or tradesperson where Alfie could be their companion on the job. Alfie would make a wonderful addition to any family.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
