About Bruce
**Bruce is currently on trial**
Bruce is an incredibly handsome blue fawn greyhound who is a true SNAG: 'Sensitive New Age Grey'. He is quiet, gentle & accommodating; impeccably mannered; obedient and always ready for a cuddle. He is completely integrated into pet life: well-trained on the lead, does not bark, highly affectionate, loves playing ball, enjoys his days going for walks and laying in the sun afterwards.
Bruce has been with the same family since he was 6 wks old. Although he has been with a number of trainers, they all came back with the same advice: "Bruce is best suited as a family pet – he has little interest in racing life." Yes, Bruce was a complete failure as a racing dog and was often found rubbing against the trainers legs instead of running with the other dogs!
This gorgeous boy would be well suited to a variety of situations – young or old, with or without kids or family. He is patient with kids and enjoys playtime. Bruce would prefer not to have to deal with a cat – he'd rather relate to just his 'hoomans'. He thrives on two walks a day and is wonderful company. Bruce is a loving and loyal dog who will make a perfect companion. He really IS one-in-a-million.
Adoption details
Greyhounds are gentle, highly sensitive dogs that will surprise you with their ability to love and engage. It is expected that you will provide patience, love and encouragement to assist with the transition from life in a race kennel to becoming a pet and cherished part of the family unit.
They are mainly indoor dogs that need comfortable, safe places to sit and sleep so you must be prepared to accommodate this via suitable bedding and warm clothes in cooler months. They are low-shedding, and good for people with allergies. A safe, secure yard is required and they need a walk everyday and/or playtime in the backyard. Most greyhounds appreciate a clean, uncluttered grassy area where they can do their 1-minute 'zoomies' a couple of times a day.
Prospective owners contact carers via email or phone, they can come and meet the animal and make an application if they are suitable.
