About Poppy ~ lovely Border Collie x (On trial 7/7/17)
Hi! I am a beautiful, 4 month old, female, Border Collie x puppy named Poppy. My foster mum thinks I should have been named Shadow as I love to follow her around the house.
I am a very affectionate puppy who loves to follow my foster mum around and will snuggle up at any opportunity. Although I have been socialized with other dogs and love to play, I also like to snuggle up with a human and watch the action from there.
I’m energetic and am currently learning to sit and shake, I am improving everyday. My favourite toy is a ball or a fetch stick. I’m currently toilet training with puppy pads and very rarely have an accident off the mat. I am continuing my training and am starting to be trained outside. I will grow up to be a medium sized dog.
I’m waiting for my forever home which we hope is to a loving family who could further my training with my manners (sit and stay) and also further toilet training. I need to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for me.
As Poppy is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Poppy, please contact her foster mum Natalie on 0413 906 653 or email natalie.horn@hotmail.com. Poppy is in the Lake Macquarie area, NSW (near Newcastle).
Poppy's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
