About Lexi
Hi I'm Lexi and I'm just too cute for words! Look at my sweet little face!
I am a friendly, inquisitive, sweet-natured girl who has had such a rough time of it and is looking for my FOREVER home - that bit is really important, because I don't think I can handle moving around anymore. I was taken from my family by the Rangers when I was about 18 months old, because they weren't looking after me properly. I was a little shy and the process of being rehomed was pretty stressful. I found a loving family who really adored me but over the last few months things started getting super stressful in the house.
My family was arguing and fighting all the time and the kids were sad. Eventually the family broke up and then everyone was really REALLY sad but they had to give me up because I couldn't live in either of the new houses. I didn't understand what was going on and all the shouting was scary.
I had two brief new families but things didn't work out with either of them and after all this moving around, I was just about spent.
I've been staying with a wonderful foster family for the past couple of weeks and I'm finally feeling a bit more relaxed here. It is going to be hard to move again, so it is super important that you can commit to giving me lots of love while I settle in and that you promise never to give me up.
For the first week or so that I'm with you, I might be shy and hide, or I might just follow you around everywhere you go to make sure I get to stay with you - because here's the thing, I will LOVE you pretty quickly. I do have an awful lot of love to give. In the beginning when I am scared, especially if I'm home alone, I might get quite vocal so you need to be prepared for that. But I'm not a chronic yapper and once I'm settled and safe I will stop that.
Underneath the stress I've experienced, I'm ultimately just a young, happy, playful, out-going dog. I want a family who will love me, include me in day to day life and take me on adventures. I have lived with kids before, though children over 12 are my preference (I'm not a fan of too much squealing or grabbing). I get on well with dogs of all sizes, after initially being quite standoffish. I would prefer to live with another dog, though I still need someone who is home quite a bit with me because let's face it, another dog is great but not as great as YOU.
Ideally my new family will include a stay-at-home parent, someone who works from home, someone who works part-time or a semi-retired/retired person. I have also lived with cats in the past, though not for a little while so I could adjust to a feline family member.
If you have on offer what I am looking for, get in touch today!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
