About Elizabeth
Elizabeth
Female Cattle dog x
Located Towoomba
Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I have the softest ears you will ever touch.
When Elizabeth or "Lizzy" was fostered to us only just over a week ago she was timid and not too sure of her foster brother and sister, she quickly showed them that she wasn't a pushover, she wrestles them just as good as they would wrestle her, she swaps food bowls cause "sharing is caring" and she sprints just as quick as them around the backyard (which is an acre) to protect the property like it's her own and never barks unless it's necessary. She very quickly warmed to the co-residing humans (especially the little ones) and is slowly learning that jumping for things is not acceptable behavior, she now nudges when she wants their attention instead of nipping and happily accepts ear scratches and extensive belly rubs. The humans have not observed her walking on the lead yet because they want her to settle into her environment first - one step at a time......she has lots of love ❤️ to give
I was abandoned in a rural pound and left to die. Thanks to OTC, I am now ready for my second chance.
I was a scared, timid little girl when I was rescued from the pound but I am slowly gaining my confidence thanks to my amazing foster. I've been around kids, dogs and cats with no problems. I am however, no good with chickens or other small animals.
I sometimes can get a little anxious when home alone and will try and follow my family, so I will need decent fencing to stop me going on adventures. Just a normal 6ft fence is all it takes for me to be safe. I was abandoned, and that makes me sad, so as long as you understand that and work with me, I will be the perfect pet. Id really love to have another dog at home with me, I definitely feel better having the company of other canines.
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate, microchip number.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
