About Archie
Hi everyone! My name is Archie, I'm 7 months old and am a Bull Arab X.
My original home wasn't a very good one but then a really lovely man came along and saved me and started looking after me, he looooved me so much but couldn't keep me cause he landlord was a big meany. So we had to say our goodbyes and he contacted the lovely people at FSDR. I'm now living with my lovely foster mum & dad and 3 fur baby siblings - one of which is Milo, another FSDR rescue that you might remember.
I'm getting lots of exercise and training which is great fun and have learned to walk on my lead, eat on command and all the other sit, stay and wait commands. I absolutely love to play with my foster siblings. We don't even need lots of toys because we just play in the garden together.
I've also been getting lots of love and nutritious food which is now making my bones grow very quickly - a bit too quickly because I've recently been diagnosed with shifting lameness. Don't worry though, it's easy to treat. It's just like growing pains that humans get when they are little and when I am a little older it will go away.
I get on really well with other dogs and love to cuddle up with them and my foster mum & dad. Mum calls me her squishy love bug. I have also been around little people but sometimes I can forget how big and playful I am so I need to be careful around them!
I'm fostered in Altona Meadows, Victoria and am now ready to find my forever home. I have been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped (953010001314218), heart worm tested and de-flead and am now available for adoption. My adoption fee is $350 and then whammo, I am all yours!
Medical notes
Archie has been diagnosed with Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy which is a result of growing too quickly. Archie has been treated for this with Anti-Inflammatory and Pain medication however is no longer taking any pain meds. His Vet has advised that Archie could possibly relapse with this condition up until the age of 20 months. If he does relapse, further medication will be required, along with rest, however eventually Archie should be totally healthy once he is fully grown.
