About Ruby ~ Maltese x Jack Russell (On Trial 16/5/17)
Ruby is an adorable 2yo Maltese x Jack Russell Terrier. She loves to play fetch and will drop her beloved ball at your feet and give you her best big brown eyes to ask you to throw it for her. When she’s not playing, she’s a very snuggly and affectionate little girl. She loves to sit on your lap and just adores being with people.
Ruby is fully housetrained and can use a doggy door. She enjoys running around in the yard but she needs to be welcome inside too. She would love to be allowed to sleep in a person’s bed so she can snuggle under the blankets on chilly nights, but she will sleep in a dog bed in a bedroom if you prefer.
Ruby is very good with children of all ages, especially if they will throw a ball for her. She loves to play with other dogs so she’ll need another friendly dog as a housemate. Typical terrier, she will chase chickens so isn’t suitable to a home with free range chickens or pocket pets. She hasn’t met any cats but I suspect she will enjoy chasing them too.
Ruby loves a walk and walks very nicely on lead. She is young and smart and will respond well to any further training you care to give her.
Ruby is super cute; white with a few little brown spots. She has a soft, low shedding coat which needs regular brushing, bathing every few weeks and clipping (every 6 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful. She needs a home where there is someone home a lot because she doesn’t like being home alone for long hours. She’s not suitable for apartments or villas.
If you're looking for a low shedding, fun loving little dog that is also very sweet and affectionate then Ruby is your girl.
For more information or to meet Ruby, please contact her foster carer Sue on 0415 367 144 or email docman4@bigpond.com. Ruby is in foster care in Warners Bay, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). Her adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
