About Axle ~ kelpie puppy (on trial 20/05/17)
Meet Axle! He is a loving and loyal, 6 month old male Kelpie puppy.
Axle is a great looking young dog with a healthy shiny black and tan coat. He is eager to please and fast to learn and has already picked up commands of sit, drop (lay down), shake and Hi5 with both paws, working on Hi10 and stay. Axle comes running at his name or a whistle.
Axle is toilet trained and sleeps in a room by himself. Axle can use a doggy door and kennel. He can be a bit shy so lots of encouragement and positive words are needed.
Axle loves to play with you or he can entertain himself and will pick his toy of choice from his own toy box. Axle loves to fetch but is not obsessive. Being young, he does like to gently mouth items including hands, so ongoing training will be required for this energetic youngster. Bath time will require some patience as he is not a fan of water. He is not a jumper and knows it’s not polite to jump on beds or couches.
Axle is great with kids and will sit all over them although he may accidently knock over a small child if excited. He gets on with other dogs and just wants to play with them. Axle would be very suitable for a family on a farm or acreage with a secure house yard. He has been around horses but does chase ducks and flying things, as kelpies do. He has not been exposed to chickens or cats.
This little guy will steal your heart and love you for life.
For more information or to meet Axle, please contact his foster carer Jodi on 0416 041 534 or email jodideamer@gmail.com. Axle is located in Medowie, NSW (north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Axle's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
