About Sweet Georgia Brown ~ Lab x Mastiff (on trial 12/5
Introducing Sweet Georgia Brown. Georgia is approximately 3 years old, and is a chocolate Labrador x Mastiff. As you can see, she's a beautiful girl, but she also has the sweetest nature too. She also has the most beautiful brown eyes that just stare right into your soul and makes all the bad stuff of a difficult day just float away!
This is Sweet Georgia Brown’s story.
Georgia was surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle with her litter of puppies. Like any new mum, she was exhausted. Those rascal puppies had sucked the life (and goodness) out of her. Her skin was patchy, she was underweight and tired. But with a good diet, some good old fish oil and love, she has blossomed into the beautiful dog you see in these pictures.
Georgia has known love. She’s a happy, well-adjusted doggy. She knows basic commands and has great manners; walks well on a lead and is the perfect companion.
Georgia is a big girl (larger than a Lab but smaller than a Mastiff) with a big appetite and will require feeding twice a day. She has a metabolism that us girls can only dream off! Of course, a dog of Georgia’s size needs to have her weight monitored so as not to become too overweight to put stress on her legs.
Georgia currently lives with 4 small dogs, another medium sized dog and a revolving door of foster dogs. She gets on with everyone and definitely enjoys the company of other dogs.
Georgia sleeps inside her kennel at night, and enjoys basking in the sun during the day. She has never been without a doggy friend, so we are not sure how she would go if left alone during the day. As with all dogs, she is happiest with her humans. Georgia loves cuddles and pats and is a little bit of a sook. But gee, she’s an awesome time waster and it’s hard to say no. She is great with kids of all ages and would really flourish with a family where there is someone home often.
Although Georgia is not a jumper at our home where she is surrounded by dogs and someone is home most of the time, adequate fencing will still need to be required, ie our fencing is 1.6 metres.
Georgia is a keeper and anyone who meets her will agree. She is probably one of the best foster dogs that has come through our revolving door!
Sweet Georgia Brown deserves the love of a good human and in return, you will get the love and loyalty of a gorgeous dog. If you feel you could provide Georgia with a loving, permanent home, please contact Di on 0413 310 791 or via email at di_keenan@y7mail.com.
Georgia is in foster care in the Port Stephens, NSW (north of Newcastle). Georgia’s adoption fee is $400. She is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
