About Moey ~ Maltese x Poodle (On Trial 11/5/17)
My name is Moey I'm a 5 year old Maltese x Poodle. I’m a lover, snuggler and cuddler and am looking for my forever home.
My foster mum would like me to let you know a few things about me:
I love a walk and I’m very good on the lead.
I'm not a picky eater.
My foster mum has been helping me learn how to live inside and is housetraining me. I must be going pretty good because she gets happy and gives me pats and cuddles telling me I’m such a good boy when I go to the toilet outside.
I love a cuddle and a lap to sit on and I am rather partial to sneaking into her bed and snuggling up for some more kip. Oh I can’t believe all this existed and I was missing out on it. But I’m not shy to make up for it now.
At the moment I sleep in the laundry on padding, a sheet to keep out the cold from the floor and a glorious padded warm bed and a crocheted blanket my foster sister gave me. Or at the end of mum’s bed.
Mum put’s me outside in the night to go to the toilet when she gets up. Sometimes I just stare at her wondering what’s going on and what on earth does this ‘toilet’ word mean. Other times I’m glad for the outside loo time.
My foster sister is 6 and she picks me up, cuddles me, talks to me (I don’t have a clue what she is saying but I’m happy to listen). I have never once growled or made her feel scared of me.
I really need someone who won’t leave me at home alone for a while, just until I understand that they aren’t abandoning me and I am living the life I once lived again. My foster mum will pretend that she is leaving and go sit on the verandah for different periods of time and sometimes I make some noise and other times I don’t; because I am getting used to the fact that not everyone is like my first owner and that they will come back.
Oh by the way my foster mum couldn’t tell the difference in me being 5 and nanna’s dog who’s 2. How’s that for young, fit and loving life.
I don’t get excited about having a bath but I am nice about it and give you the big sad eyes.
I have never owned a toy before and my other foster sister has taught me a lot about being a puppy dog and how to play with toys.
I have a beautiful nature and temperament with people.
I travel really easy in the car. I’ll either hang my head out the window or curl up on the seat.
She thinks that I would be best suited to would suit someone who could give me lots of attention. A family that is willing to take me with them or only work part time, a retired couple would suit also as long as they could still walk her.
When my foster mum first met me I was very confused and shy because I didn’t understand why my owner was bringing me and my bed here and leaving; but once I understood that my foster mum loved and cared for me; made sure I had food in my tummy, a warm bed, belly rubs, a jacket, and love lots of love I knew I was safe and settled right in.
So please all I ask is that you love me and care for me because I may be a little dog but I have more love and snuggles than my little body can hold. And that I will be yours forever and not just until you find a shiny new toy and get rid of me. I can’t bear that heartbreak again.
I would love to meet you and make you as happy as you make me, please contact my foster mum, Renae by text on 0418243311 or email renae.flood@bigpond.com

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
