About Popcorn ~ Maltese x (on trial 2/05/17)
Popcorn is an energetic 3 year old male Maltese cross - a little pocket rocket!! Apart from his great name, he is a great dog looking for a special family to adopt him.
Popcorn loves people especially kids. He is super friendly and adores affection and attention - cuddles, pats, a good play and a chance to run, is all he wants. He would make a great addition to a family willing to give him the love he desires.
Popcorn loves a walk but tends to pull a little on lead ( unless you are running - his favourite activity ). He sleeps inside on his foster carers bed at the moment and won’t budge from there until morning. He knows how lucky he is!
Popcorn would really benefit from further training as he hasn’t had too much in the past. He is mostly toilet trained but could do with some direction in this area, being vigilant on letting him out if inside for a toilet break is a must. Most of the time he will let you know if needs to go out but you need to be aware of this.
Popcorn gets along great with other friendly dogs, isn’t great with pocket pets and hasn’t been exposed to cats. He doesn’t need another doggy companion as he is happy with his human friends but doesn’t mind having a play with one.
Popcorn would suit anyone really, a family with kids, young or old, a young active couple or an active retired couple. He would benefit from someone being home part of the time through the day as he likes to be around his family.
Popcorn is located in Charlestown ( Newcastle ) with his carer Ben but please contact Sharron on 0423 331057 or email: sstudley3@bigpond.com for any enquiries.
Popcorn's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
