About Charlie ~ Shih Tzu x Schnauzer (on trial 7/5/17)
Charlie is a 1 year old Shih Tzu x Schnauzer looking for his forever home.
This bouncy pup is a total goofball and has his foster family in stiches. He does not have a mean bone in his body and just loves fuss and attention.
Meeting and playing with other dogs is top of his to do list. He just loves to play chase and rumble with similar sized dogs. He has good manners with other dogs and will back off when his attention is not wanted.
He walks nicely on a halter and loves his walkies. He will say hello to everyone he meets!
Charlie loves kids and would be suited to a home with older children as he can jump and grab at your clothes for attention when super excited – small children might be overwhelmed by his energy and enthusiasm.
His foster carer currently works and he is ok being left with his doggy friend Wally who he came into care with and lots of toys to keep him busy. He loves playing with his Kong and doing doggy puzzles – he is super smart!
Charlie loves dogs and would love a doggy sibling in his new home but would also be happy as an only dog if his new family were around more often than not.
He came into care with very little training and is still learning manners (mainly jumping when excited) but is a very willing student! He has learnt to sit for his food and a treat and his toilet training is coming along nicely.
He is very intelligent and full of energy and his new family will need to continue his training and he would benefit from some doggy training classes. He is so willing he could be taught to fetch, do agility or obedience! This smart doggy has so much potential!!
For more information or to meet Charlie, please contact his foster carer Vivienne on 0424 410 052 or email viviebassett@hotmail.com. Charlie is in foster care in Umina Beach, NSW (Central Coast) and is not available for adoption interstate.
Charlie's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
