About Scooby ~ 11mo boxer x ridgeback (On Trial 23/5/17)
Meet Scooby! Scooby is an energetic, affectionate and playful, 11 month old, boxer x ridgeback who will melt your heart. He is medium sized, only 17 kgs and is fully grown. He is a smart boy. He knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’ ‘shake’, and ‘down’ and picks new things up quite quickly. He is pretty good on a lead too, only pulling a little.
His favourite things are: walks, cuddles, playing fetch/chase/tug with any toys/humans/dogs, and wrestling his foster sister (a 3 year old staffy).
Scooby loves other dogs and humans alike. An ideal home for Scooby would be one with another doggy friend to keep up with his high energy levels and to keep his brain occupied. Without a canine buddy, his humans will have to have a lot of time available to spend with him and would have to be home a lot.
Scooby needs to be an inside dog - he needs to feel included as part of the family and would get very sad if he was shut away from them. Scooby loves kids, although can jump up when excited. Being young and playful, he would need to be monitored around them until he is a bit more disciplined. Scooby will need a good secure yard preferably with 6ft fences.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
