I've been adopted!
About Naomi *Free to adopt in April*
Sweet Naomi is a testament to what a kitty can achieve given time and space, love, patience and affection. This sleek stunner is a born and bred country cat, originating from a hay shed in Dowerin.
We heard the all-too-common story from the property owner: "a cat turned up in my shed. I felt bad so I started feeding her because I couldn't just ignore her. But then I realised that she was getting fatter and fatter and it wasn't just the food.... now it's been 12 months and I have 15 cats in my shed!"
Naomi was one of the first generation of kittens and so she has grown up with someone visiting her and feeding her every day, although she was never inside a house until she came into foster care. To begin with she was terrified, literally shaking every time someone came near.
Now after weeks in foster care, she is smooching, purring and enjoying human company! She has come a remarkably long way in what is really a very short time.
Naomi is still certainly a timid girl. She will take time to warm to her new family and does not like to be picked up and held, preferring pats and smooches on the ground and this may always be the case. But based on her exceptional progress so far, we are truly confident that Naomi will become a happy, affectionate, loveable member of her new family.
She will thrive in a home that is calm and quiet with patient humans who want to give her lots of love and time. It would be very beneficial to place her with a confident, friendly, playful cat to be her new friend and teach her the ways of the world.
It might be slow going but it will be worth it in the long run!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
