About Vegas ~ Foxie girl (on trial 12/07/17)
Elvis wasn’t wrong when he sang, “Viva Las Vegas”. Vegas is a 3 year old Foxie girl, full of life and all about fun.
Vegas came to DRN when her first family were concerned she was at risk from unfriendly dog people next door. They were heart broken to let such a beautiful girl go but felt it was in her best interests to live with a new family where she was safe and equally loved.
And Vegas is very easy to love. Her inquisitive nature, love of children and athleticism would make her an ideal dog for families with older children and are on the go. She loves ball games and will play fetch much longer than her people partners can. But her most favourite thing to do is to chase bubbles, leaping in the air to catch them.
Vegas was previously an outdoor dog but has now adapted to inside life very well. She is toilet trained and has learned how to use the doggy door. She does bark occasionally, like when she is excited to hear you coming home through the front door.
Vegas was also an only dog so she has been gradually learning doggy etiquette with her 5 dog foster siblings. She now looks for them to play tug of war or to clean an ear, but as they are all older dogs, her energy and boisterous nature wears them out very quickly.
Vegas loves her food and has quickly learned when it is treat time and is usually the first one waiting in line. She is very intelligent and learns things very quickly. She knows how to sit and I imagine would be keen to learn more. She is quite strong on the lead and will benefit from some time being taught her lead manners.
Vegas is a gorgeous girl who would make a great addition for any family. Due to her energy and her tendency to jump up, I think Vegas would be ideal for a family with older children who will involve her in their activities. She is a very clever and fun girl who wants to please her family. She does like other dogs but she can be a bit much for them. At the end of a long day playing, she does look for someone to snuggle up with on the lounge and at night, find a comfy bed to sleep on, and dream of tomorrow’s adventures.
If Vegas seems like a perfect match for you, please contact her foster carer Lea on 0400 931 061 or email leaparker4@optusnet.com.au. Vegas is located in Cardiff, NSW (Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Vegas's adoption fee is $400 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
