The darling Daisy is nothing but a beautiful bundle of non-stop cuddles and affection. She’s had a pretty rough life but you’d never know it given her personality as she is a kind and gentle soul. Daisy is good with other dogs and loves everyone. Daisy is exceptionally special, she only has one eye and is completely blind, but that doesn’t stop her! Once Daisy has her bearings, she has no issues getting around and is quite confident. Given Daisy’s condition, she does get a little separation anxiety which improves over time, however this means her ideal forever home will be with someone that can be home with her most of the time, until she settles in. She would also do well with another doggy friend to live with, preferably one of a mature age as whilst Daisy is only 3 and still has elements of puppy playfulness about her, she is fairly relaxed in nature.
Medical notes
*Daisy is vision impaired (blind). Daisy sadly has 1 missing eye and her remaining eye has cataracts. This is a long standing condition of unknown origin. Daisy has been evaluated by an opthalmologist and there is no possibility of this dog becoming visual at any point in the future.
Daisy has Malocclusion which is the deformation of a dog's jaw structure, leaving either the mandible (lower jaw) or the maxilla (upper jaw) out of line.Malocclusion is mostly hereditary although retaining the baby teeth can force adult teeth to erupt out of line. Usually this causes no problems but may lead to the need for increased dental care at a later stage.*
Daisy is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped & heart worm tested.

ADOPTION:

Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
Harvey Dog Training supports SHARI and has kindly offered to provide our adopted animals 30% off training/obedience classes. If you are keen to enrol your new puppy/dog please mention this in your email to us!
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 10 day trial period commences
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
