About Petey
Little 4 year old cairn terrier x male, Petey is starting to slowly settle into foster care. This little fella that we nicknamed "The Meerkat" is so sweet.
He adores the other dogs in care and would do great in a home with another friendly dog. His current foster home has 7 other small dogs that he socialises with.
He is also in foster care with three cats and hasn't shown to have any issues with them since arriving into care.
He is quite a shy little fella and would do best with an adopter who is loving, calm and patient. He isn't really interested in being held like a typical small dog and does well with structure, routine and he also adores his crate for security and bed time.
An indoors household would do him best, one where he is allowed to interact with his owners a lot. A retired couple would suit his needs, one where he is spoiled and doted on with a basic walk a day and lots of indoors time with cheeky treat time.
We haven't tested him with kids so not completely sure how he would go. But due to his petite frame and more shy nature, we would suggest dog savvy kids over the age of 10 would be best suited to his needs.
Petey is located in Rutherford and his adoption fee is $350 which includes his microchip, vaccinations, desexing as well as up to date flea/ tick/ heart worm and intestinal worming treatments.
Adoption details
In the ENQUIRY SECTION please explain in LENGTH some basics about yourself/ your life/ your household and what type of life you can provide for one of our rescue animals.
If successful, you would be contacted by phone, where we will talk about your enquiry and potentially organise a meet and greet between you/ your dogs/ your family and the potential candidate
From there, you can either take your animal with you if the meet and greet was successful and their vet work has been completed- or if the vet work hasn't been completed, you must wait until it's finished before taking your new friend home which will be organised between yourself and the foster carer.
Every animal has a 2 week trial period.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
