Hello there, I'm Bertie! I'm smart as a whip, bright as a button and just about the cutest lil' dude you ever did see.
I'm looking for a fabulous new home where I can a) have an awesome doggy playmate, and preferably some older kids to hang out with as well, and b) continue my education in becoming a Good Dog. At the moment I find it waaaay too easy to open doors, squeeze under fences and jump up on things I probably shouldn't - I also have no fear, which doesn't help matters - but my foster mum is working very patiently with me so we can nip my 'ninja' tendencies in the bud!
The good news is that I'm an excellent learner, so I'm sure we'll get there sooner rather than later. I've already mastered my name, 'stop', 'sit', 'stay' and 'NO' - foster mum says my recall rate is around 80 per cent.
If my new owners have some experience with dogs, that would be wonderful! I think I'll be best suited to a household where somebody is home most of the day... At the moment I do experience some separation anxiety, but having my doggy foster sister Skylar to cuddle with alleviates it quite a bit.
MY IDEAL HOME: I would be SO happy in a home with another energetic dog! Playing is my number-one favourite thing - I can do it all day, and it's much more fun with a partner in crime!
I also love children and would be very well-suited to family life with kids aged 10+.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I'm young, I'm a terrier-mix - so what do you think? Haha! My energy is off the charts, to put it plainly! I need a good, loooong workout every day, twice if possible - walking is great, romping at the dog park is even better - so you'll definitely need to be committed to an active lifestyle with me in the picture. ;)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Although I'm small, I'm a bit too full-on for young kids. Children aged 10 or older are a much better fit with my personality.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Just call me Bertie the Socialite! I love the company of other dogs, especially if they are up for a run and a tussle.
I haven't met any cats so far during my time in foster care.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry-dogs. Please use this link rather than the 'find out more' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
