About Jemima ~ BC x Kelpie puppy (pending adoption)
Introducing our adorable little Jemima, 10 week old, Border Collie x Kelpie. She is small for her age but big on personality. Jemima is such a sweet little girl with loads of sheepdog energy and a very bright and inquisitive mind.
If you are after a dog to forget in your backyard then this is definitely not the puppy for you! Jemima is a busy body and wants to be in on the action. She will happily follow you around the house all day and loves nothing better than to curl up with you on the lounge for a cuddle. As she gets older, she will need to be taken out regularly to exercise her body and stimulate her mind.
Jemima has had a rough start to life and needs an owner that will show her love and stability. She is very affectionate and loves people and romping around with the other dogs. She can be timid in new situations and needs plenty of affectionate reassurance. Jemima is bright and calm and very trainable.
Jemima would be ideally suited to life on a property or with any active owner that has the time to bond with her and incorporate her into their daily life. She would suit older children that will be gentle her and who would enjoy a playful dog. She will need secure fencing to keep her safe.
As Jemima is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she's 5 to 6 months old.
If you are after a loving, bright and faithful companion for life, then Jemima is the puppy for you. Please contact Lucy on 0434 430 720 or lucyhollard@idl.com.au. Jemima is in foster care in Charlestown, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle).
Jemima's adoption fee is $500 which includes her desexing when she is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
