Sparky ~ JR x Maltese x Shih tzu (On Trial 23/4/17

Hello, my name is Sparky and I am a 5 year old terrier crossed with a non-shedding breed such as Maltese or Shih Tzu. Children are fine with me as I really enjoy a game of tug and I can chase a ball and bring it back in a flash. I presently live with eight other dogs, some smaller than me and one bigger. I get on quite well with them all. I also reside with a hen and a rabbit but I hardly notice them at all.

My foster carer has a nice bed for me so that I can feel comfortable inside regardless of the weather. I use a doggy door for those calls of nature. Although I am an inside dog, I don’t mind spending some time outside during the day when the weather is fine. When I’m outside I never bark or make a fuss. Of course, I need to be safely inside after dusk and to sleep inside.

I enjoy my walks and the experiences in the outside world. I walk very nicely on my lead and the sounds of traffic and other dogs are of no concern. In fact, even the fireworks and storms don’t trouble me. I am not a fussy eater. Raw, meaty bones make me very happy!

I come when I am called and I am learning to sit when asked. If you pat me then stop I’ll put my paw on your hand to ask for more! I really enjoy a nice warm lap to sit on when I watch TV.

I hope you will excuse my untidy appearance in my photos. They were taken just before I had a haircut. I have a low shedding coat which is easy to care for, just needing brushing (weekly), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 6 to 8 weeks). My foster carer says I’m a very handsome fellow. What do you think?

My foster carer has spent two months with me and knows me quite well now. She thinks that I would fit right into a variety of homes. I am happy to lounge around all day or play. I would make a great companion for someone who likes to go for gentle walks or for children who would play with me and be respectful of me. I am in good health and looking forward to meeting my new family.

Sparky's adoption fee is $450. He has been desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. He has just had his teeth cleaned and polished and has a dazzling smile!
