About Max
Max is pretty easy going for a young dog. He was pretty skinny and shy when we first got him - he was scared of loud noises and terrified of the car but he has come a long way. He is full of character and charm and loves jumping in the car now. Max is super loving and likes to be close all the time but can survive outside on his own or with another dog occasionally. He is dog friendly and would love another doggie friend to play with. He loves people as Staffys do so will need someone who can spend quality time with him. He would need someone who is willing to spend time with him and have him inside snuggling on the couch of a nighttime. I'm working with him on developing his manners a bit more and he is picking up on it quite quickly, he's pretty smart. He sits and waits for his food every morning and night and doesn't start eating until I say so. He can get very excited and jump all over you but every day he's doing it less and less and he knows that once I tell him to stop and sit down he has to stop jumping if he wants a cuddle. I’m not sure what Max would be like with small kids as he has this habit of trying to nip you on the hand or chin when he is super excited and you get too close to him, but he is also doing this less and less as he learns that it is an unwanted behaviour. He is mostly house-trained and has only had the odd accident. Walks well on a lead doesn't pull excessively. His recall is very good. I have let him off a few times at the river for a swim and he's always come back. Max has learnt to sleep in a crate and night and will now happily do so. He is very goofy and quirky and he'll make you laugh all the time. Max doesn’t bark and is not a noisy dog. He is pretty active and loves going outside of the house but will also happily laze about on the couch.
