About Poppy
Please say hello to little miss Poppy.
Sweet little Poppy likes being out and about and meeting new people.
She walks well on lead and has nice manners. She is well behaved indoors and will go to her crate when her carer asks her to.
We are not completely sure of Poppy's breed so these are the suggested breeds listed by the vet.
Poppy enjoys receiving loads of love and attention. She will happily sit with you for cuddles and pats or curl up with you on the sofa.
In her current foster home Poppy is living with male and female dogs and they all get along well although she does prefer to spend her time with the boys and it will avoid dominance issues that can occur between two girl. She will be looking for a home with a desexed male dog to offer her companionship and guidance to help her settle in.
The dogs in her current foster home are all larger than her. She has met one small dog while she has been with us and had no interest in spending time with him but seems to gel well with dogs that are a bit bigger than her.
Poppy believes she has to be protective of her food. This is something her carer is working on. She may have previously had to compete for her meals and gets very upset if she thinks another dog is trying to take it from her. Further training is something that will need to be acknowledged and continued in her new home. She is more settled with male dogs and feels more threatened by the other females in her foster home. Feeding dogs separately is always recommended and helps to eliminate any issues before they occur. Treats can also be given with dogs being kept separate during this time.
Poppy has met young children and seems to be very gentle and well mannered around them. Due to her protection of food she will be looking for a home with children aged 10+ who will better understand that dogs should be given their space while eating.
In her foster home, Poppy is offered a warm crate inside and she is welcome indoors throughout the day. We believe she deserves the same opportunity when she heads off to her new family. She has the occasional accident - especially in the wet weather when going outside doesn't seem like a good idea. She has changed her routine in her foster home and is quickly learning appropriate toilet etiquette.
Poppy is a very excited girl who is loving life and people. She gets super excited when her carer comes home from work and loves to jump up to say hello. She is learning her manners and that she will get more attention if she sits and waits until her carer is ready to come and say hello.
All in all this girl is super sweet and deserves a home where she will receive lots of love and cuddles.
If you believe you have the right home for Poppy where she will continue to learn and understand what her family expect from her we look forward to hearing from you
Medical notes
Poppy has been desexed, microchipped and vaccianated. She has also received regular flea and worm treatment.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
