About Jake
Introducing 'Jazzy Jake'
Little Jake the 13 year old pug x cavalier arrived in care a few weeks ago and he has everyone wrapped around his gorgeous little tail. This small senior deafie is an instant heart-stealer!!
After spending most of his life outside, Jake has quickly learned that hanging out indoors with his foster family is a great way to spend his days. In amongst soaking up all the love he’s receiving in his foster home, he’s also making progress with his training and now happily sits on command, is toilet trained and is progressing well with his crate training.
Jake has shown himself to be a perfect gentleman around children, but given his age and size, would do best in a home where any children are aged 8+ and who will give him the space he needs as an older dog who does require a quieter life.
Jake is untested with cats and pocket pets, but is great with other dogs given appropriate introductions.
Although he is an older gentleman, Jake still has a zest for life and easily finds enough energy for daily zoomies around the house and for daily walks around the neighbourhood or trips to the beach.
Jake is a super-affectionate, people-focused boy who would do best in a home where he didn’t have to spend long periods of time alone. Ideally this would be with a family where there was someone who was home more often than not and/or with another suitably matched (age/size/energy level) dog to keep him company.
Our gorgeous older boy loves car rides and seeing the world with his foster family. Being included in their daily life makes him very happy.
Like most of our dogs in care, Jake is deaf. Given his age, his eyesight is going a little but his vision is still totally functional. He does have a little bit of arthritis in his legs (normal for his age) and would benefit from ongoing joint supplements and of course, a gentle lifestyle with a comfy place to rest his little body.
When asked about his most special quality, apart from being ridiculously gorgeous, Jake’s foster mum highlighted his soft ears. In her words “he has the softest ears, words can’t describe how soft they are! Lots of people have commented on how soft they are!” All of us dog-lovers know how irresistible a pair of soft ears are, so if your hands are itching for a pair of soft ears to stroke and a gorgeous face that will lovingly stare at you while you’re stroking those ears, then we’d love to hear from you!
Jake is located in Melbourne, VIC.
* Interstate adoption is available.*

Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
