About Grace
Introducing 'Grace'...
Gorgeous Grace is a young great dane/mastiff/wolfhound x pup who came into care a few months ago with her ‘starlet’ sisters - Audrey and Marilyn. With a trio as beautiful as these sisters, naming them after some of Hollywood's classic starlets was a no-brainer!!
Grace is an outgoing dog who loves being part of whatever is happening in her foster home.
Along with being deaf, Grace also has microphthalmia (small eyes) so she’s being trained with touch commands as well as signed commands. She knows come, sit, stay, drop, down, no and good girl in both touch and signed commands. Grace is also toilet trained and crate trained. Who says you can't be both pretty and super-smart!!?!?
Grace’s sight is actually pretty good despite her microphthalmia, but we’re using touch commands as a back-up in case her sight deteriorates over time.
Grace loves to go for regular walks and is learning to control her excitement at getting out and about. While she typically walks well, she can still get a little excited when she seesare people or other dogs who she desperately wants to meet!
Her foster family are working on teaching her to remain calm when she encounters new potential human and canine friends and she's making wonderful progress.
Grace gets along incredibly well with other dogs as she thinks everyone is her new best friend.
As a large and very bouncy puppy with lots of energy, any doggy pals Grace lives with will need to be on the larger side of the size spectrum (labrador-sized or bigger) and be very tolerant.
Grace has shown herself to be very happy as a solo-dog though and entertains herself outside with treats, toys and long naps while her foster parents are at work each day.
A walk morning and/or night, mental stimulation and some extra-fun play time with her people before bed is enough to wear out this giant baby dog who sleeps perfectly through the night in her crate. Grace will easily go 10 hours in her crate before she needs to head out for a toilet-break and breakfast.
Grace’s favourite game is fetch and she’ll happily play for as long as her people will keep throwing her toy or ball!
Given she is a big bouncy puppy who is going to keep get bigger, Grace is best suited to a home where any children are over 12 years of age.
Grace is not suitable for a home with cats, birds or pocket pets.
Grace is located in Canberra, ACT.
*Interstate adoption is available.*
Medical notes
Grace is deaf and has microphthalmia (small eyes)
Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
