About Roo
'Introducing Roo'
Roo is a 4yr old Male, Domestic Short Hair and he has had a roller coaster of a life so far.
He was apparently somebodies loved pet for the first year of his life before being left behind when his owners moved leaving the property and Roo abandoned.
Roo, along with his 7 siblings, survived the next three years off the kindness of neighbours who continued to feed the cats when possible and get the occasional pat. As expected the lack of human interaction for such a long period had made Roo quite untrusting and flighty.
When the neighbours circumstances changed and they too had to move away they couldn't bare to see the cats left entirely to fend for themselves so they trapped all 8 and took them to a local shelter.
That's where HNE met Roo and his sister Karva (already rehomed) with their physical characteristics of a deaf cat (pink skin, white coat, and mixed eyes) we were notified and then able to bring both in to care and start the process of rehabilitation.
Roo has been fully vetted (Desexed, Vaccinated, Microchipped) and has adjusted better than expected to the life of a domestic cat.
Once comfortable around new people Roo will chat away at you, rub up your legs and enjoys a pat and chin scratch. He will follow you room to room and wants to know what you doing - especially if you are in the kitchen!
Roo is currently living in a home with kids but he is still quite flighty and often 'disappears' when there is too much movement or noise (Yep! It turns out he CAN hear!) so would prefer a family with understanding kids or adults only.
He is getting more and more comfortable being picked up and quite often seeks out someone to snuggle with and force his head butts.
He still prefers to love you on His terms, so he will need an owner who understands his limits and will love him as he is.
Roo is is a very independent cat and although he was living in a colony with multiple cats he is very forceful and wants to be boss cat so a solo cat home or a home where he can have an extended settling in period and very slow introductions (or separation) would be required.
He has no fear of dogs, and will stand his ground and even show affection to them if approached nicely. He also chatters and squawks at one of the foster carers resident dogs for attention.
He's a low energy cat but does enjoy his crazy lap moments.
Roo is completely litter trained and has not marked territory inside.
Roo like all HNE cats requires a Indoors ONLY home or access to a secure outdoor enclosure.
Fun facts:
You can win Roos heart with food, and will chatter and chirp at you if you dare eat without him.
He even comes when called!
Hilariously being rehabilitated in a dog rescue has introduced roo to crate training and Roo enjoys having his own space and uses a crate as a safety zone.
Roo is currently located in Townsville QLD

Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
