About Arugula
Hi everyone!
My name is Arugula but you can call me Ru. My siblings and I have joined the OTC pack and my mum got desexed by OTC so no more puppies would be born! I love my siblings but let's face it- there's no room in the world for more puppies!
I am a sweet and loving boy, with good manners and good social skills. I currently live with a sibling and two adult dogs! I have humans caring for me who work so I am independent and quick to adjust. I like to fall asleep in silly places and boy do I love a good nap!
I am great with other dogs and have no known phobias. My manners are great and I am almost fully house trained! I would be a fantastic pet for almost anyone! I am currently sleeping inside the home at night. While you could make me sleep outside, I really am a very clean and quiet pup and I might get stressed if I am suddenly exiled to the yard. If I am going to be an outside dog, I definitely need to have a canine friend to cuddle up to at night. Otherwise if I am coming inside- well there's no need to share your attention!
I'll happily be your one and only. So what do you think? Did you want to meet me?
Medical notes
Happy and healthy!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate, microchip number and council registration, and will transfer the microchip into your name.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
