Hi, I'm Dexter and I can't wait to meet my new family!
I'm looking for a home that will love spending time with me as I am a totally loyal boy who just wants to hang with you.
I am super obedient, with fantastic recall and I always listen to my people intently. I am so polite that I even know how to say grace before dinner. Cool huh?
Some of the things that I love: I love toys. I love play time (but it needs to be gentle because my knees ain't so great anymore). I love love love kids! They give me so much attention, it's fantastic! And I LOVE pats! Is there anything better than a good pat? Not in my opinion!
I find livestock and cats just a little bit too tempting, but I am learning to behave around them while in care.
I'm currently living on a farm but before this it was the city life for me. To be honest, I don't mind where I live, as long as I have someone to love me for the rest of my days :)
Medical notes
Dexter has considerable degeneration in both hind knees. As much as he loves to run and play, his activity needs to be limited and he will require ongoing pain management. His perfect home will give him lots of mental stimulation through toys and training, and perhaps do some low impact exercising with him like swimming to burn off that extra energy!
Adoption details
If you see an animal that looks like they could be your next pal, submit an Application Form. Once you have submitted the completed Application Form, a volunteer from the Pawfect Pals Adoption Team will be in touch. Please note, the animal you are interested in may not be available at the time you submit your application form, but we will always do our best to match you with another animal in our care.
When a suitable match has been found, we’ll arrange for the animal’s foster carer to give you a call, to discuss your potential new pal in further detail.
A home inspection is then carried out by one of our volunteers to ensure your new pal will be happy and safe at your home. We also encourage you to meet your potential new pal before beginning the trial period.
Once the adoption fee has been paid, you can take your new pal home and begin the 4 week trial. We are available for support and guidance during the trial period, to make the transition as smooth as possible for you and your new pal.
