About Bowie
URGENT!!! Foster Carer Required by 30/6/17 or will have to kennelled. If you can offer a permanent or temp home for Bowie please contact us asap
Bowie came into care very frightened, scared and unable to cope with the normal sounds of a household. Preferring to hide away with his head in the corner, he spent the first few weeks ignoring his foster sisters/brothers and the gentle affection that his foster carers gave him. He wouldn't eat if anyone was in the same room and generally was terrified of everything in the world, including moving around the room, sneezing, sounds of plates and cutlery and fast movements near him. Poor Bowie! He has had a rough upbringing!
We are very happy to say that after 6 weeks in care with a lot of consistent love, cooing and gentle attention, he has flourished and settled in happily to his new foster carer's home!
His favourite food is chicken liver, and he eagerly joins his foster brothers/sisters for meal times now, and wanders around the house to pick the best snoozing spot.
He does seem to enjoy his own company, and seems to pout whenever another kitty tries to join him for a snuggle in his snoozing spots. He has only climbed onto his foster carer's lap very occasionally for a little snuggle, but when approached slowly and quietly for a little pat, he will lean into you and respond to your pats and scratches... so we bet it won't be long now until he starts to purr!
If you are after a quiet, no-fuss cat to join your household and are willing to be patient with him, once he has bonded with his family, he will likely imprint on you and reward you with all the loving purrs and headbutts that he can muster.

Our animals are rescued from various pounds and shelters and placed in Foster Care until a permanent home can be found. Our volunteer Foster Carers are located throughout Sydney, Australia and are only too happy to assist you.
DCH Animal Adoptions relies solely on our adoption fees and the generous support of the community to continue our rescue work. Many times, we are faced with large veterinary bills due to the illness and injury that comes along with looking after pound rescues.
