About Tilly
Tilly is a beautiful girl who is quiet, loving and very gentle. Unfortunately, she is not a fan of cats and was surrendered to us due to attacking a cat. She was dearly loved by her last family, but sadly this attack was not play, and it is essential that Tilly is not placed in a home with a cat.
Apart from her dislike for cats, Tilly is an absolute delight. She is sweet and affectionate. She gets alone fine with the other chihuahuas in her foster home and they've become good friends. Tilly would do fine in a home with another laid back dog, however she'd also do very well as an only dog.
Tilly can be very shy and nervous in new environments, but she is never aggressive. We think she'd be best in a relaxed home environment without lots of hustle and bustle. Her favourite activity is to snooze beside her human. Sometimes Tilly cowers when she is approached, and she shows signs of having her trust broken in the past. We know she's been through a couple of homes, so we think that has unsettled her.
Tilly has a genuine love for children. She races up to all the kids she sees to say hello. She loves to snuggle with the kids in her foster home. She is only a tiny little girl and will be alot smaller again when she's lost all the extra weight she's carrying. For this reason we'd prefer that she didn't go to a home with very small children, just due to her size. Kids over 8 would be great, or perhaps we can find her a home with an older couple who have visiting grandchildren she could love. This would be the best of both worlds for our Tilly!
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Tilly had dental disease when she came into our care, she has had dental surgery and now has a lovely clean mouth. She is very obese and her new owner must commit to continue her weight loss for the sake of her health.
