About Jock ~ Jack Russell (on trial 3/04/17)
Jock is a super friendly and smart 4 year old male Jack Russell, who would make the most wonderful companion. He loves go for his daily walk and is friendly towards every dog and person that we meet along the way.
Jock needs to be allowed in the house at all times with access to outside. He is toilet trained, and has had no accidents inside since coming into foster care. He is learning how to use the doggy door but will sit at the back door and let you know if he needs to go out. He knows basic commands like sit, down, stay, wait and is learning how to shake hands. He loves to play with and carry around his squeaky toys in his mouth.
He is more than happy to sleep in the lounge room, either on his bed, or the lounge (if he is allowed) and will sleep on his blanket. Jock is in foster care with 3 cats which he is gradually getting used to. He is learning not to chase them, but will be best suited to a home where there are no cats or pocket pets.
Jock loves to go for a walk and walks very well with his harness and does not pull. Whilst walking, he loves to meet new friends and is relaxed and happy around big and small dogs. He travels very well in the car and you will not hear a sound from him in the back seat – he is just so happy to be spending time with you.
Jock has shown some signs of being nervous around small children. For this reason, we feel that he would be best suited to a home where there are no children, or where the children are older than 10 years old.
Jock is in foster care in Budgewoi, NSW (Central Coast). For more information or to meet Jock, please contact Jackie by email jackie.bryant1@det.nsw.edu.au or call on 0416 046 055, leaving a message with a name and contact details.
Jock's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
