About Vell
Vell breaks my heart. She's not cute and fluffy. She's not a puppy. She's a dog who has lived three quarters of her life sleeping in her own filth and she has the urine staining to show for it. But this is fading, just like her depression and her resignation. She has gone from a dog who was completely shut down to the world to one that has a spring in her step and a sparkle in her eye. Vell wants to live. She is starting to understand what it means to live and with this understanding has come a renewed vigour and loyalty to the first person who has shown her love.
Living a life so degraded and meaningless has lead her to value the love and companionship of a human so badly that she feels she must guard this resource so closely no other dogs can get near. Don't misunderstand me, she is great with other dogs generally, as can be witnessed from her pictures, however, when I am close she warns other dogs that I am hers.
For this reason she would do best in an only dog home where she can receive and give love on a one on one basis.
Don't let Vell's age deceive you. Her release from confinement has slowly uncovered a dog who is agile, sprightly and active. She has a lot of life to live and an abundance of love to give.
She is looking for a kind hearted person who wants to watch her continue to thrive and experience all the benefits of doing so by receiveing years full of love an loyalty in return.
You will be her world. But you must have no other dogs who, in her mind, threaten her new found love.
Are you the reason I saved Vell from euthanasia? Send me an email and tell me why you are.
Vell is almost toilet trained and would benefit from someone who can be home to continue her training.
Medical notes
Clean bill of health. Recently had a dental and vaccination.
Adoption details
Please email me a little bit about yourself. I do not operate on a first-in-best-dressed basis. Instead my aim is to find the most suitable forever home for the animals in my care.
