About George ~ 3.5yo Great Dane x (on trial 12/04/17)
Attention big dog lovers!! Introducing George - He is a Great Dane x who is just under 4 years old and is the most loving, friendly boy.
George is an absolute gentle giant, affectionate, loyal and quiet, with gorgeous brown eyes and unusual markings. He adores humans and just wants to be near you so would make an excellent companion. Being a more mature dog, he adapts well to his surroundings and can be left alone but really craves cuddles and regular interaction with his humans.
George is well-behaved outside or inside the home. He likes to curl up and he moves about nice and calmly, so he is great with kids (although you have to be mindful of his size). Did I mention he likes cuddles and pats?! George is super friendly to everyone he meets.
George likes other dogs but would rather people so wouldn’t mind being an only dog. He is wonderful to walk with - while he is excited to go out, he settles down to walk leisurely beside you. He is easy to direct, despite his size, he comes when called and can follow basic commands. He is easily trained. He is not fazed by cats at all. Not sure how he would go with pocket pets but most likely would be fine also.
George enjoys human interaction and mostly just lazing about. As long as he gets a nice walk every so often and lots of pats, he will be a happy boy. He does not bark. He is the most perfect dog you could find!
For more information or to meet George, please contact his carer Kirby by email - kkelow@gmail.com. George is located in Belmont, NSW (south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
George's adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
